Family Pack is a french comedy inspired by Jumanji. A board game comes to life making a family travel back in time to a medieval village, in order to return, they must win the game and uncover the identity of the werewolves. The movie had some of the best werewolf creature effects in recent years. They were realized with practical effect costumes by Creature Bionics. One of the coolest part of it is that each person’s werewolf form resambles their human counterpart and they all look different.
Despite the reviews, the movie was a success, it claimed the first place of Netflix’s global chart. The sequel, Family Pack 2: Renaissance is currently in production and was filmed in Prague. Netflix hopes to create an anthology franchise connected by the same time-travelling werewolf game concept. Each installment will have have a new main cast and will explore different historical eras.
Just like the first, the film will be written and directed by François Uzan. The sequel will take place in 1515, during the reign of King François I. The new cast includes Monica Bellucci, Jamel Debbouze, Fred Testot, Alexandra Roth, Alice Dufour, Alban Ivanov and Jonathan Lambert.
No release date has been announced yet, but is expected for 2027 and just like the previous entry it will be available exclusively on Netflix.
